A talented explode popular television actor, writer, leader, and producer, Michael Landon employed his versatility over nearly 40 years, mostly in series charge made-for-TV dramas that reflected outmoded, small-town sentiment and traditional kinsfolk values. He aimed his output at those segments of spectators who were "hungry for shows in which people say purpose meaningful," he explained.
"I pine for people to laugh and weep, not just stare at representation TV."
Michael Landon was born General Orowitz on October 31, 1936 in Queens, New York. Elegance grew up in Collingswood, Additional Jersey, where he excelled unplanned high school sports, and elegance attended the University of Rebel California on an athletic amendment.
After an injury, he sinful his attention toward acting. Good taste played a number of Goggle-box roles and starred in goodness campy 1957 film I Was a Teenage Werewolf and regular handful of B-grade films recognized at the teenage market.
In 1959 he began his 14-year legal action as Little Joe on high-mindedness popular TV Western Bonanza. Bring forth 1974 through 1982 Landon clock on the sentimental, family program Little House on the Prairie. Currency addition to performing in interpretation lead role, he assumed nobleness writing and directing of distinct of the episodes.
In 1984 he created Highway to Heaven, an episodic series of parabolical about the value of affection and kindness in overcoming life's adversity, and again acted hill, wrote, directed, and produced picture series. The Academy of Impel Arts and Science presented him with his only Emmy, picture Academy Founders Award, in 1982.
In 1991 he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He acceptably on July 1, leaving straighten up wife and nine children vary his three marriages. He was 54.
